Candy hearts record release show.

Thrifted sweetheart bustier, BCBG jeans, TJ Maxx flannel, Steve Madden flats

Friday was the Candy Hearts record release show at the Charleston (the really fun pizza bar).  I was so happy that the basement was filled with tons of old friends, new friends, and soon to be friends.  Earlier that day, I travelled the lengths of New York City to get my hair styled by my friend who is graduating from Arrojo really soon! I'm her hair model for her final project, so by next week I will have an extremely different dye and cut. I'm nervous because I've never dyed my hair except for the wash-out red streaks I put in when I was 15 and punk rock.

Friday afternoon, before Kris, Greg, and I ate at this AWESOME Mexican place (that I got no pictures of because I was delirious with hunger), we filmed a Pink Couch Session.  This was my second ever on-camera performance, and I was pretty nervous because of number of people who will probably see it.  I had always watched the Pink Couch and thought about what it would feel like to sit in the place that so many bands I adore and respect sat.  Well, now I know what it feels like, and it feels awesome!  It was, overall, the most fun I had in a long time, despite my inability to stop giggling because of how excited I was. I can't wait for it to be posted.  We also checked out Big Soda's session and it was so cute!

I wish I could say the rest of my spring break will be equally as fun, but I have so much work to do! I am writing a really great article for Her Campus, doing some freelance work, delving deeper into my horror screenplay, preparing a french presentation, finishing my senior project, planning an end of the year party for The Independent, reworking my resume, and scouring the job listings on ED2010.com. I am really lucky to have all this wonderful creative work going on right now!

Thanksgiving Weekend.

Forever21 dress, Doc Martens shoes, vintage hair bow

For Thanksgiving, I would like to say I am thankful for my ability to have no time to do anything, yet all the time in the world.  How does that work out? This weekend was a much needed vacation from staying up late and it was very quiet without the Independent (well, quiet aside from my loud Italian family).  Now, I just have like a billion different projects to do: French test, vocal session, article to write, Shakespeare presentation, basement show, album art, copy editing, interview, research paper.  I have not written a song in like two months because I've been so busy.  Someone send help and ramen.

On a side note: Matthew Gray Gubler is pretty much my dream man, but there is some weird serial killer on "Criminal Minds" who is lighting everyone on fire.  WHAT.  Why is this show so addicting?

Here is my favorite part of the holidays, besides my family:

my first love and i.

Right now, I am only writing to keep myself from writing the last page of my Shakespeare essay. It is 5pm and I need to do it ASAP before the Indy meeting. Last night, I swore I would do it, but ended up finishing most of the guitars on my record. This weekend has been the first 5 minutes I have had to breath since my boyfriend left for tour, and I started dating Starbucks.

I'm toying with the idea of making a music video, because I feel the need to be creative lately.

Edit: The whole point of this post was to talk about how much I love the new Chanel blush my mother made me buy. Moms always know best. I've never been a blush kind of gal, and I should be since I am basically the real life incarnation of an overly contrasted Myspace photo. Anyway, I like the plum undertones, and I love how it goes with lipstick. It even seems worth the extra money because :
a. like any other girl, the linked c logo of Chanel makes my heart flutter
b. it actually stays on!
